The knobs are fine one is missing the rubber insert to secure knob to cook top. Can you just buy the rubber inserts?

I have recently replaced all my appliances (save my GE Profile cooktop) with stainless steel. I'd like to replace the burner and selector knobs with stainless (right now they are white). The knob above appears to be compatible, but when I put into the locator it indicates otherwise. Please advise, if this knob will clip onto my cooktop.

The only reason I am looking for replacement knobs is because the ones provided with the new stove are sub par. The covering melts with the heat of the oven. My oven knobs look unsightly, with puckered, bubbling surfaces. So, I need to know what the material is on the replacement knobs with certainty. But this begs the question: why do I have to pay to replace? I would hope that GE would endeavor to maintain good customer relations and provide free first time replacement knobs instead of expecting the customer, ME, to have to fork over hard earned money to replace a substandard fixture. All due respect here. Please consider this thoughtfully.
