Answer Hello Milton, The light bulb has nothing to do with the circuits required for heating. The humming indicates the possibility of a bad high voltage transformer. The unit should be opened and troubleshot before ordering a part.

I have this GE model #JE2160SF01 "Built in Microwave" oven and need to replace the bulb part # WB36X951. I understand I have to unplug the unit,remove the trim plate then unfasten the microwave from the cabinet. Once the microwave is on the counter, I will need the special tip driver to remove the outer cover in order to access the bulb for replacement.

Answer Hi Paulette. Once you have the cover off, the lamp is behind the top of the door handle latch area. Remove the wire connectors. The whole lamp socket will be removed with just 2-phillips or 1/4" screws. You will be fine. Lamp part # WB36X951. Thank You.
