The machine won't agitate or spin. I originally changed the lid switch because I fiddled with the wires and it worked for a while. I can't find an led light blinking on inverter board. This is my in-laws washer so I'm helping out (trying at least). What now?

My GE washer will not spin or drain it was making a screeching sound while in the draining and spin cycle. This machine is only 1 year old. Do you think it may be the drain pump or maybe the lid switch. How can you determine if the pump is shot?

I have GE washer GTWN4950L0WS. For last 1 week it was making making sound when in wash cycle. Now it stopped working (not filling, spinning, draining). I tried replacing inlet water valve it did not helped. At present I noticed LED is flashing red on inverter panel with 10 fashes and pause. I want to know how to fix this issue

My washing machine does not agitate or spin. I am lead to believe that the problem may be with the belt, lid switch, or the motor. The belt appears to be in good shape. Which leaves the lid switch and the motor. How can I Ohm the lid switch and/or how do can I initiate the cycle in which I can read the Motot Inverter board status?

I have a GE washer Model # WJRR4170G2WW. My first problem on washer I had a leak and the leak was coming from the WH38X10017 Trans. (bad oil seal). I replaced with a new one and had a wash a few cloths since then. Now I have a Now I'm getting a code of 7 flashes telling me that it the lid switch. I again removed the lid switch and I could see where the the clear spot that shows the switch operation has been cracked. In mean time I cut switch off and done a bypass so to speak to finish out the load cycle in wshich it did. I know i probably shouldn't of bypass it and waited till I got another switch. My wife done another load of clothes and going back to check on puting clothes in dryer she noticed clothes was still wet. Long story short i can't get the washer to any at all other than fill or pump to drain. Now I still have this code flashes 7 times and tell me it's lid Sw. There are no other codes. I checked fuse and it's ok. and I check continuity on trans and it shows resitance w/ohm meter. Now I'm thinking it's a problem in the motor or computor board which is over my head. Anyways I don't know how to check it. My question for you I know I need to buy a lid switch but should I also buy the motor too? I already have a good share of Dollars in it already so I figure my it still cheaper than buying a new washer? But if my motor still good I hate to spend that kind of money on something I don't need to buy. Thanks for hearing me out! awaiting for your email before I do anything. Mike
