Is replacing a lock assembly very difficult? Can it be done in a a few minutes with contents still in the freezer?

Answer Hello Terry. No, replacing the lock assembly is not easy and can not be done in a few minutes. You need to remove the inner door liner to access the lock assembly and replace it. May take you 1 to 3 hours to do.

Answer Hi Mark. From a side view look to see if the door gasket is square shutting to the cabinet. Is the unit level front to back and side to side? Make sure the hinges are not bent. Look inside to see if anything in the door bins are not sticking out and not allowing the door to shut. Check the same for the inner shelves as well or if one shelf is out too far. If your model # is FUF14DVARWW then, then lower hinge is part # WR02X12990. If the cabinet is level and the hinges not bent, you can hold your foot on the bottom of the door and pull gently out on the top corner to "tweak" the twisted door back to closing. If the door gasket is not sealing, you can use a putty knife and a hair dryer to relax the inner magnet with the door shut (from the side). Thank You.
