The microwave buzzes when ever you open the door, turn on the light or try to operate it. Turntable will not turn and will not heat. Had a part replaced years ago it was a wb27x10017. Could this be it again? And what does this part control? Thanks

Answer Hello Gary. No, either a door switch is bad or the control board is bad. Not the magnetron. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Had bad magnetron in ge 1650 cb 003 microwave, ordered samsung om75p[10] magnetron ,installed and still don't get heat. Is this the wrong part

A metallic bread tie was accidentally left in the unit on top of the glass tray. The wire arced/sparked for 5-10 seconds before it was noticed and removed. The microwave worked once or twice afterword but now will only make a slightly louder humming noise than normal but no heating. Haven't removed case yet, but was wondering where to start, 1) Diode 2)Capacitor 3)HV transformer or 4)Magnetron. It seems that if all 4 components are bad it may be more cost effecive to just buy a new microwave.

Answer Hello Jim, You will more than likely need a new stirrer WB6X496 and you will want to check the magnetron magnet WB27X10017 for cracks.

Microwave quit heating. Found bad hv cap replaced it and hv transformer. Diode checked good with 120 volts applied. Magnetron reads .3 ohms and nothing to case ground. I think this reading is good but still think magnetron is bad any help appreciated.

Answer Hello John, You will want to check the magnet on the magnetron for cracks. The .3 ohm reading is good but if there is a cracked magnet then the magnetron will read good but not work. You will also want to check the thermal fuse on the magnetron to make sure that it is good.
