Will i be able to replace the magnetron myself in microwave or will i need professional electician
To replace the magnetron, you will disconnect the power and take unit from installation. Once out of installation you will remove the outer casing of unit. With outer casing off you will be able to replace the magnetron.
Microwave has light/vent on but don't turn off and don't heat the food.
Answer Hello Gaby. If the unit runs and does not shut off, you will need to test the door switches WB24X830, WB24X829, and WB24X814 and see if they are bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My spacemaker microwave/vent won't heat. When turned on the light inside and fan work but it is not cooking anything. Is the problem the magnetron? If so can it be repaired without pulling it out of it's wall mount. Candy
Answer Hello Candy. If the magnetron WB27X10585 is bad, the unit will not heat. You will also want to test the diode WB27X1160 and make sure it is good. It should only read in one direction when testing. You will need to remove the microwave from the wall mount to access and replace the magnetron and diode.
