I have a GE side by side refrigerator Model # GSH25JSRFSS approx 7 years old which is not functioning properly. Back wall of freezer is frost covered. Refrigeraor side not cooling at all properly (food spoils) and no blower (fan) detected. I have been told it is the Main Control Board (motherboard). I have searched and found several Part Nos. for it ie., AP4436216 which apparently had been replaced by # WR55x10656 which also apparently has been replaced with # WR55X10942. Which is correct for my model refrigerator AND is its failure covered by GE as free replacment (heard many failures have occurred and GE was making good on them?) PLEASE ADVISE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU

When turning maytag stove on after ten or more minutes fi appears on stove and beeps. I cancel this then wait for awhile and it starts beeping again. It appears on when I start the top burners starts beeping.

Last night we seem to have lost all of the refrigerator functions, none of the external buttons had power or worked. when you opened the door the lights would come on, but everything was not cooling or freezing. The display inside the ice box side that shows what number settings are was not on either. Is this a motherboard issue? GE Profile- Intermittently warms ice cubes melt, ice cream soft etc. If I shut unit off it resets, comes up to temp and works fine. Usually occurs after I shut down ice maker due to excessive cube production.

Answer Bill, You will want to check the thermistors in the unit to make sure that they are good. In the freezer the thermistor resistance should be 42.5K ohms if the temperature is 0 degrees and for the refrigerator section should be around 14K ohms at 37 degrees. It may be that the defrost thermistor in particular is bad causing unit to stay in defrost for too long of a period. If the thermistors check ok then the control board would most likely be cause of failure.

Having an ongoing issue with our refrigerator. Takes several tries before water will dispense from the door, but eventually will. I've changed the water filter & made sure there is no kinks in the water supply. Ice will not dispense at all. I'm assuming it's the main control board, but thought I would check before ordering a new one.

Answer Mike, Before replacing the control board, pull the dispenser assembly apart to make sure that there are no damaged or warped parts in the dispenser assembly that would cause the lever to make intermittent contact.
