The auger motor is not spinning. I try to move with my hands the auger motor and I thing is locked did you think the auger motor is bad?
Answer Hello Juan,
The auger motor WR60X10258 is most likely frozen up. Point a hair dryer at it for about 15 minutes and if this causes it to become operational, you will need to check the door seals and the ice door for an air leak. If none are located, check for 120Vac to the motor. If there, replace the motor, if not, replace the switch WR23X10783 in the dispenser. If it is good and being properly activated, the dispense board could be the issue.
My ice dispenser makes a horrible loud growling noise when dispensing cubed ice, but quiet when dispensing crushed ice. I replaced the motor and the complete bucket and auger assembly and it still makes the same noise. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Answer Arnie, You will need to remove the bin assembly and check the solenoid WR62X58 and the associated parts inside the motor cover WR17X11789 on the back of the support rail. When Crushed Ice is selected the solenoid remains relaxed and the cubes are forced through the chopper blades. When Cubed Ice is selected, the solenoid activates and raises the shifter arm on the side of the bin and allows the cubes to flow through the dispenser without being crushed. The solenoid or the plunger etc. are where the problem is located.
