Where can I find my model number?

I have a 5 yr old ge front load washer. The last two times that I have run it it begins to tap and smell like melting rubber when it reaches and runs through the spin cycle. I checked and replaced the belt. It was a bit loose then ran it again with the same results. So I looked it over again and found that the plastic "ring " that connects the boot and the drum is partialy melted / split. Can this be fixed? What is the part called? Can a non appliance repair person fix it. Thanks for your consideration. Aaron

Answer Hi. The question is - What caused the front tub part # WH45X10101 to melt and smell? Look at the back of the tub to see if the main pulley has worn into the back of the outer tub part # WH45X10071. It comes with a new spin bearing pressed into it. Tub seal part # WH08X10023. The inner tub part # WH45X10079 has to be replaced as well. When front load washers sound like a train instead of a jet then the rear bearing/shaft assy. is worn out. Thank You.
