Most Interesting

This icemaker had stopped working, after about 2 months it started working again. Then 3 months later stopped. Unit does not work at all now. Although the motor gear is missing 2 teeth it does not appear to even try to turn anyway. Should I be able to turn the gear by hand when it is removed from refrigerator? Could the problem be the motor is shot, or could it be something else? I am willing to trouble shoot through it to buy the right part. Thanks

Water was overflowing from ice maker and froze in bottom of freezer. Thawed out, cleaned up ice maker, installed new filter and turned back on. Same problem. Went to Sears and bought a replacement icemaker (model had changed). Installed and turned on...same problem. Must be another valve or solenoid. Need part number or advice for repair.
