Most Interesting

GE wall oven JKP14WP3WG does not heat for bake or broil. When pushing button to either bake or broil, and selecting a temperature, "bake or broil" word appears followed shortly by 'on'. Neither element heats, and after about 20 seconds "bake or broil" word as well as 'on' turn off. Initially and stupidly without turning off power at the circuit breaker, and thinking there would be no power to the heating elements, I removed the broiler element, BUT in doing so touched one end of it to the side of the oven. SPARKS! Then the circuit breaker tripped and I survived! Question 1. Should there have been power to the element? If not, what could this indicate? Subsequently, I've confirmed correct ohm reading for the buttons on the face panel. They seem to be fine. Question 2. There is not much more to the oven than the 'control board'. There are actually two boards in the same housing. One is WB27K5123 that has the clock, etc. Don't know number of the other board behind it...... or perhaps they are sold as a single unit. Could this be faulty, and keeping power to the elements?

I have a GE wall oven JKP14WP3WG that was working fine, until one day it just did not turn on. When I push button to either bake or broil, and choose a bake temperature (or broil Lo or Hi) the bake or broil word comes on followed shortly by 'on'. There is no sound such as the elements turing on as I have heard before, then all wording (bake, broil, 'on') are turned off. Any idea of what the problem may be, and what parts need replacing?

I need an oven baking element. Have the numbers changed from a few years ago? I found a AP2030969 but not sure that is correct. Can you let me know if I'm on right track? Thanks.
