The temperature control knob for my GE oven has had the numbers worn off by years of cleaning and use. Can you help me locate a replacement or compatible part?
Answer Kay, the thermostat knob listed for your model is part number [AP2015025. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued and is no longer available. We do however, have an electric range knob knit available that contains a thermostat knob you can adapt to your appliance- part number TJKN002. Hope this helps you, thanks.
The decal on the "OVEN SET (CLEAN) Knob" of my GE JK14 wall oven has been rubbed away making it impossible to tell what setting the oven is on from looking at it. We've used the oven for 24 years and so know how to set it, but need to make it obvious for others. The information I remember from researching replacement of the knob five years ago is the knob is integral to the controls and cannot be replaced by itself. This meant the part was relatively expensive and more complicated to replace. If this is correct, is it possible to just get a new decal.
Answer Hello Anne,
To access the control compartment on single or double ovens:
1. Open the oven door.
2. Remove the three ¼-in. hex-head screws that attach the bottom of the control panel to the vent trim.
3. Place a cardboard protector on top of oven door and close the door. Note: The control panel has keyhole slots at the top and is held very tightly to the side trims.
4. Carefully push the control panel up, then pull out at the bottom.
5. Rest the control panel on the protected door. Note: When installing, make sure the bottom edge of the control panel sits on top of the metal air divider and vent trim.
