The oven in GEXL44 will not work, but the gas burners on top do. Seems other neighbors in the development have had this problem and replaced an ignitor. Want to make sure that I have the current part. Thanks

Answer Hello Meg. There are two igniters on your oven. One for the broil, and one for the bake. It's not often that both would go out at the same time.. If neither the bake or broil are working then it's possible the the electronic control could be bad. The part number for the electronic control is part number WB27K10143. Hope this helps..

We have a GE LX44 and the oven does not light when set to bake but when set to broil the igniter glows bright orange and the burner lights. Could the problem still be the igniter?

Answer Hello Stella. On your oven there are two igniters, one for the bake, and one for the broil. If the bake is not lighting then I would probably replace the bake igniter. Part number WB2X9154 is the correct igniter for your model. Hope this helps.

Answer Katherine, It is possible that it could be just the igniter. You will want to test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Hi, happy returning customer. I have a GE Profile oven JGBP79WEW1WW. Top burners and broiler works fine but the oven will not light. If I turn the oven up to say 350, the digital temperature display only reads 100 no matter how long it is is on 350 and the oven does not heat. Broiler works fine and I know there is also an ignitor for the oven, but are they the same interchangeable part? I need the oven to heat. Thanks. Oven and broiler are not working after the oven cleaner was done for 4 hrs as the instructions said. What can I do?
