My exact model # does not show up in the drop down model number list, but it's about a 2008 Hotpoint (GE) 24" simple gas range 24" side freestanding. I have made all changes to convert to LP ( orifice swap, tuned broiler air adjust nut to make snug, and switched the regulator plastic deal under the brass cap nut). 2 issues - 1. What is the size male thread I need for the LP supply into the bottom of the reg, and thread type? 2. and in jacking around with the regulator, I accidentally knocked off (like totally off in my hand) off the little red plastic tab on top of what looks to be a valve on the right side of the regulator. Do I need to try to reinstall this? It looks to be a pin to hold the small brass spring operated valve pin open? replace whole reg now, or pul up shaft and slip plastic deal back in place? This stove has never been used. New with me since 2008. Thanks

My stove seems to be working OK except for a slight smell of gas. The Gas Co. Tech checked for leakage and found the smell to be coming from the oven and not the surface burners. I suspect the problem to be the pressure regulator but could it be the control valve? I have noticed that the surface burners don't always light immediately when turning them on. Thanks.

The range takes an hour to pre-heat. Is this related to the regulator or could there be something else?

Latest Questions

The flames on my stove top will intermittently flare up. And the oven burner flames will sometimes do the same time. This is very sporadic. Otherwise the unit works fine. It was suggested that the regulator (pressure valve) was probably going. Do you agree?

The burners on my stove work but the oven does not. You cannot hear or smell gas when the oven is turned on. I already replaced the igniter just in case but that did not solve the problem.
