I ordered probe sensor part number WH12X10251. How do I replace it? I can feel two screws holding the water inlet in place from inside the washer tub. Do I unscrew the water inlet and remove the old sensor. Does the new sensor just snap in the hole in the water inlet or does it screw in? Thanks
Answer Frank, "1. Remove the control panel. 2. Disconnect the thermistor wire harness from the water level switch. 3. Remove the funnel hose from the water valve. 4. From inside the tub, remove the two 1/4-in. hex-head screws that attach the fill funnel to the washer. 5. Pull the fill funnel and wires down through the opening. 6. Remove the tape, pull and unsnap the thermistor from the top of the fill funnel. ** Note: Make certain the gray rubber gasket is in place on the thermistor when reassembling."
This washer has PerfectTemp feature which senses the temperature of the incoming water and adjusts the fill water temp if necessary. For example, on cold setting, some warm water would be added, especially in the winter when the water coming into the house is really cold. On hot setting, some cold water would be added. This feature does not work anymore.
Is it possible I need to replace the probe sensor Atc?
Answer Frank, the WH12X10251 Atc Sensor Probe is a possibility, but not the more likely issue. you can test the resistance of the sensor with a multi meter. it should have a resistance of 50K ohms resistance at room temperature. The more likely issue(s) would involve the WH13X10024 fill valve and/or the fill hoses. Remove the hoses and flush the faucets, check the debris screens in the end of the hoses, and the inlet to the fill valve, clean out any sediment or debris on the screens. It could also be that the control board is reverting back to the factory settings. The ATC / perfect temp circuit is allowed to cycle so many times(25) during a fill cycle before the control board reverts to the factory settings. with the resent weather conditions, the board could be resetting.
