GE washer occasionally stops randomly in fill/wash/rinse cycles. Field service mode shows thermistor error. Do you recommend the control board (AP3892692) or thermistor (AP3794965) be replaced? Thanks.

Washer lights are flashing and nothing will work. Just replaced the funnel shower (Sears part #803), but it did not have a hole for the probe sensor (#25). What does this sensor do? I am sure this could be the problem.

I have a top load GE washer about 5-7 years old. Model is discontinued but parts still available. My washer stopped working after making horrible noises. Motor wouldn't make anything move ( this was original 2 speed clutch motor). Yesterday I replaced it with a new 2 speed clutchless motor and did all the rewire according to directions. It works fine thru all the cycles until the final spin where it won't spin unless almost empty. The clothes are soaking wet so I remove most of them and I get it to spin then open lid and throw in a few pieces at a time and allow it to drain some of the water until all the clothes are spin dried. Could it be the control panel or the water fill tube sensor)???
