My dishwasher does not drain after a wash cycle. I checked the drain for a clog, but did not find an obstruction. Does this sound like a faulty drain pump?

Answer Hello Allen,
The drain pump WD26X10039 can be bad but I would dis-assemble the unit from inside the tub first to check all of the screens (filters). If the filters stop up, the unit will just recirculate the same old dirty water over and over. While you have the filters out, you can check in the bottom of the sump for any foreign debris. If no problems are found, I would remove the hose off of the inlet side of the drain pump to check for any foreign debris. You should also make sure the drain pump is running when the unit should be draining. I would hate to tell you to replace a component that didn't work because it wasn't receiving voltage. If it does run, replace the pump. If it doesn't, check for 120Vac across the wires to the drain pump. If there is no voltage there, the control module WD21X10385 is in question.
