I have a GE Model TFX30PRYA WW refrigerator with yellowing dispenser housing (model WR17X10190). I would order this part as replacement if I could get adequate instructions for removing and re-installing this item. The FAQ indicates that a chute heater assembly may be required to complete the re-installation, but those instructions are for a water dispenser. Does that also hold true for replacing only the dispenser housing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm replacing GE part WR17X10190 a "recess dispenser" on a GE TFX27PFSMWW Refrigerator. I have the (freezer door handle and all trim removed) 12 screws removed and the recess dispenser pulled out from the bottom, but I can't tell how to disconnect the water tube from the back of the dispenser or the wires from the top left side of the recess dispenser. Are there instructions anywhere or could I get some direction. Thank you Ken

Door dispenser unit Solenoid that opens the flapper door to let ice out is stuck on the ON position. Concerned about overheating and fire. I have unscrewed the "res/des" from the door but it seems that all of the parts are enclosed within the plastic unit which was plastic to plastic sealed. A. is a wiring diagram available that might indicate where I can disable the electrical connection to the door dispensing part (it has a sliding switch for a light, another sliding switch for selection of water/crushed-ice/whole-ice [this latter quit long ago] and a pressure switch to start unit when glass is in place. When we bought our house this fridge came with it. However it had been turned off with the doors closed for about 6 weeks and there was a lot of mold growth. We cleaned the icemaker inside the freezer pretty well but p/n AP2063799 still has a lot of mold up in there that we can't reach. How can I get access to this? Do I take off the top frame of freezer, slide the freezer door panel off, then remove the trim plate to get at it? I'm also wondering if there are other parts I can't see that may have had mold growth. I just wonder when I dispense water if I'm getting water that has passed over mold or not. Are there any other parts I should try to clean or just replace?
