My oven has a problem heating up. It gets to about 100 deg, but no more. the broiler works fine, and the stovetop works fine. A repair guy came out and tapped on what I thought was the pressure regulator, and the stove heated up properly after that. BUT, he said I needed a new oven Safety valve, which is a different part! I am confused now. COuld my problem indeed be the Pressure Regulator, and NOT the Oven Safety Valve?? thanks

Answer Hello Richard. No, the issue is the safety valve, not the regulator. It does not affect the regulator to tap on it, but it does the gas safety valve WB19K36.

No gas will ignite with normal ingnition. If I try to light a top burner with a match a very small uneven flame will light. I think it is a regulator problem.

Answer Hi. Without a manometer part # TJ45506 to measure the gas amount on a burner orifice then it will be an educated guess at this point. Did you recently have any gas appliance repair recently? Do all the other house gas appliances work OK? Throttle the shut of valve a few times to see if there is any internal debris momentarily clogging the pressure regulator part # WB19K10001. Turn the ON/OFF lever on the pressure regulator to see if it is partially open. Tap on the pressure regulator while the top burner is working to see any positive change. Make sure all orifice's and burner pilot holes are clear to accept the fuel pressure. Thank You.

Answer Hello Daniel. The inlet should be 1/2" and that is the one for the gas line and the outlet should be 3/8" for the regulator WB19K10001.

The stove works great but when you turn the broiler on and open the door flames shoot out of the oven melted all the knobs before it could be shutdown. I believe it is the regulator but need your opinion before I order the parts....The flames also shoot past the heat shield and almost hit the side walls.

Answer Hello Clyde. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you will need to test the gas pressure after the regulator. If it is high, you may need to replace the valve and the regulator WB19K10001 on the unit.

The stove works fine the problem is on broil. When you light the broiler the flames go from one side of the bake compartment to the other. When you open the oven door the flames shoot out the front and have even melted the knobs. It worked fine the last time we used it. I suspect the pressure regulator, but I need an expert opinion. Answer Hello Clyde, Since I'm not there to assess the situation first hand, I have to recommend the replacement of the burner and the thermostat. Gas is a very touchy thing to work with as everything has to be in very tight tolerance. If you still notice an issue after these parts are replaced, you should contact your utility board who provides your gas and have them check the pressure to the unit. Of course they will know, but they need to check the pressure at the appliance which places the pressure test after the gas pressure regulator at the tank/meter. The pressure regulator on the appliance regulates pressure for the surface burners also. Since you mentioned no issue with the surface burners, it cannot be part of the issue.
