Hi, our refrigerator stopped working, lights come on nothing is working. Tested the compressor it is ok. Could this be the relay. I shook it (relay) and it does make noise but could that be the thing causing everything else not to work other then the lights. We had a black out the night before but the fridge was working ok after.

My refrigerator keeps tripping the breaker and won't start. It sparks every time you plug it into the wall all of a sudden. Just had it fixed. The defrost and the temperature sensor were replaced. Worked great for 4 days and now this.

Refrigerator quit working with no warning-can you help diagnose and fix? In trying to eliminate an unpleasant odor near the unit I vacuumed the backside 'sealed unit' compartment using a shop vac with a crevice tool. The next day both the freezer and refrigerator compartments were not cooling. There is no frost in the unit. The condenser fan seems to work ok. The compressor seems to click on for an instant when the unit is plugged in then it immediately clicks off apparently, IE, does not start and run. My Refrigerator has a part mounted to the left side of the compressor (viewed from the rear) that has the date of May 2009 on it, where an overload relay with start capacitor might be found. Is it likely that you can help me diagnose and fix this problem?

My refrigerator / freezer is making a "click click click" sound prior to the compressor coming on. I am assuming it is the relay. Should the relay and overload both be replaced at the same time?
