How do I install a sensor & harness on GE gas wall oven listed?
Answer Hi Tony. The only way to replace the oven sensor is to get a capable helper. Remove the door as it makes it lighter to handle. Then set up a couple of sturdy chairs to pull the unit out (remove power and trim first). Then you will remove the back and access the elect. connection to the sensor. Part # WB20K5041. The ceramic wire nuts needed are part # TJMA01164-1. Then remove the racks and mount screws inside the oven. Pass the new one through the oven and bolt in place. Now go to the back and cover the open hole with insulation tight around the sensor back area. This will insure that no heat escapes out and burns wires in the future. This makes the difference of a repairman -to a - technician. Some people will not concentrate on this step and have premature failures. The manufactures have all upgraded the sensor wires outer coating for temperature issues along with the crimp on the back of the sensor. Reverse reassembly. Thank You.
