I am trying to obtain detailed instructions on how to replace the following part # WR02X11907 - RH Shock Absorber. My refrigerator door makes a horrible noise when you pull the door to open and then it does not close unless you manually push it shut. Does the unit need to be laid down to install this part? Do I lay the refrigerator on its back or side? Does the front door need to be removed? Thanks in advance for your help! Mike
Answer Hello Mike,
You will need to replace the complete door hinge assembly WR13X10348 unless you want to dis-assemble it to see which part is needed. This job can usually be done by raising the unit far enough to put a block under it to keep it off of the floor. You definitely do not want to ever lay the unit down since this will allow the compressor oil to enter and block, (restrict), the sealed system. This would prevent the unit from cooling.
