My microwave fan stays on continuously when the door is shut.
I was told the problem is with the main board part # ap3993872.
Answer Hello John. Depending on the fan your referring to, it does not sound like the board. It sounds like a bad door switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html If the door switch is good, then it would be the board. You remove the grille on top and the control panel to access and replace the board.
Hello. My Microwave is saying that the keyboard has shorted. I believe this is the part I need to fix that error but I was hoping to see some instructions before I decided to purchase it. Just want to make sure it is something I can do on my own. Thank you!
The keyboard would be part number WB56X10822 which is the membrane switch with control panel. To remove this part you would remove the screws holding the air grill in place, then remove one screw from the control panel. You would then need to transfer parts from the old one to the new one and reinstall.
