I have a GE dishwasher that's probably 10 - 12 years old. It started to leak from the bottom. I noticed the leak is coming from the solenoid. Would this indicate a bad solenoid or a bad pump/motor assembly? Thanks, EML

When dishwasher is started water starts to fill and then drains out not leaving enough water to reach top sprayer and operate lower arm. 110 volt going to solenoid which opens and shuts constantly. 110 volt going to water fill valve at start and rince cycle, 18 to 34 volt in off cycle. question is do I have a bad drain solenoid valve or a bad timer? timer does advance, float switch n/open is working.

I've installed the inlet water valve, but no change in operation. I noticed some leaking/corrosion on the solenoid. Could this be causing the machine to not wash and rinse properly? The soap in the door gets dispensed, but no washing/rinsing seems to take place. Will replacing the solenoid assembly fix the problem?
