Answer Hello Richard. The solenoid raises the cover, so that the ice has to go through the chopper blades to exit the dispenser. If the solenoid does not raise the cover, the ice will drop out of the large hole. Hope this helps.

Answer This is the solenoid that controls switching from crushed to cubed ice. However this control board WR55X129 is the controler for this solenoid and causes it to switch back and forth. Hope this helps.

Answer John, The parts come with 365 day warranty. You may want to look at power supply to the solenoid but it may just be that the solenoid wore out.

Answer Barbara, To access the solenoid, you would pull the user interface from the dispenser and remove the dispenser housing. The Solenoid is on the left side of the dispenser assembly. Check to see if the solenoid [WR62X107] goes up and down or if it is stuck. If stuck it will need to be replaced.

Answer Hello Deepind. The solenoid gets rusty and causes it not to close all the way. It sounds like the solenoid assembly WR62X107 will need to be replaced if there is a gap there.
