GE Oven (Gas)
Model # JGBC20WEA1WW
Problem: Burners on the left side do not light automatically (only manually). Both burners on the right side work - light automatically.
What parts do I need to replace? The “Spark Electrode Top” – qty of 02X?
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
You will want to check the spark electrodes to make sure that they are not cracked or damaged. Also check the continuity of the spark switches in the light position. If there is continuity then the switch is good. Most likely the issue will be caused by a faulty spark module.
Installed the stove ignitors fine, but for some reason the right "front" and "rear" dial activates both ignitors
Answer Kenny, This is normal operation for the type and brand of range you have. " Sparking will occur at both electrodes regardless of which valve
is in the "lite" position. "
My hot point stove works fine but oven just quit working. Model # RGB508PEA1WH
Answer Hello Daniel. Check and see if the igniter is glowing in the unit. If it is not, you will need to test for power to the igniter and replace it if it is bad. If it does glow, then Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
