While no burners were being used all four igniters started sparking without being manually turned on. I removed all four knobs and the pieces of plastic underneath the knobs without any resolve. Only way to stop all four igniters is to unplug the power cord - any suggestion? I am under the impression it could be in the spark module somehow shorting out but since I don't know what is inside the module I haven't taken it apart until I receive more information and, if you think there lies the problem, a spare spark module. Thank you

After a year of matches and reading the questions about constant sparking, allow me add this to the list of questions before replacing numerous parts that are not bad. I too lean towards the spark module, This is why... All four burners constantly spark. I have had to unplug the unit to make it stop. I removed both burner units completely off the cooktop and when I plug it in all I hear is a constant clicking in the area of the spark module. your thoughts please. thanks

on the 2 stove top burners, 2 diagonal burners do not spark or light up. I purchased 2 ceramic ignitors (WBK13K29914) and replaced them and it still does not spark or light up. It it the spark modulator?

Latest Questions

I have a GE profile cooktop (about 9 years old). one burner will not spark. I have replaced the ignitor, the switch assembly and the spark module (in that order). I inspected the wire going to the burner in question and it looks good, no evidence of burn, the insulation on the wire appears intact and is not hard or brittle. So far I think I just bought a lot of unneeded parts. Any ideas would be appreciated. Bill

Constant sparking at all burners. Tried to "heat" the switches with a hair dryer, no luck, still sparks. Also tried to segregate each burner by disconnecting each , one by one, burner at the module. The sparks jumped across the module and couldn't determine which or if it is a switch on the harness of the spark ignition switches. Please advise the proper item(s) needed to repair Thanks, R McEvoy
