I have a side by side GE Refrigerator with an ice maker. It will not dispense the ice or water when I push a glass against the ice dispenser funnel. However, I discovered that when I push way up at the very top, it will work. I took it apart to see if the ice dispenser funnel was broken anywhere, but it was not broken and the spring is in place. Do you have any idea of what it could be ??? Thank you."

Problem with the spring part ap4510574 Due to the broken (black) rod that hold the spring above, which part no. should I order AP4436244 or the whole subassy of water/ice dispencer lever ? Can you send a picture of how this spring hooks onto the lever to create tension ? Your help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Tony Answer HI Andy. The U - shaped end of the spring hooks onto the dispenser flapper arm (funnel lever) which the flapper hooks to. Look at the old one for old spring marks. The straight end of the spring rest onto the back of the dispenser housing. This is the end that is turned one revolution to create the flapper tension. Thank You. When I attempted to replace the funnel ice dispenser on my GE GSL25JFRFBS, I discovered that the housing shield itself was deformed (I used a hair dryer to melt the ice so that water would flow). I was hoping to see the old springs and how they looked installed but there were no springs. My wife and I couldn't recall seeing any one of the springs on the floor or elsewhere. Could you send me a drawing on how these springs look when installed? I couldn't figure it out using the freezer door parts breakdown drawing and could not understand the explanation on the answers to other questions. Thank you so much for your help!
