My washer was working fine. Then I tried to use it and it just clicks and tries to select the chosen cycle. If I close the lid it starts to agitate. If I put it on spin it spins. It just will not stop on selected cycle and fill. Can you tell me which part I might need to get it working again? I have researched the washers available that still have an agitator and are not the ones that use less water, but I see so many negative reviews. A lot of them say the washer flooded their house, only worked for a short period of time or not even through the first and initial use. I would like to repair this one and take my chances of having it break again down the line.

My washer will spin but not agitate. Initially I thought it would not spin or agitate but after some closer observation, I suspect it that not agitating heats up the motor and then will not spin due to overheating - it will spin when it cools down. What I have done so far is: With the belt off - the motor runs freely in both spin and agitate but in different directions. The main pulley can be turned in one direction in spin mode only and turns the entire drum. not sure if the main pulley turns in agitate mode since the water lowers the tub and can't reach the main pulley, I suspect the transmission but hopingfor a cheaper solution to try first - Thanks in advance,
