Why are there 2 different part numbers for the suspension rods? Is part # 414 for the 2 rear rods and part# 415 for the 2 front rods? One rear and one front came out of its bracket can I just reinstall them or do they need to be replaced?
Answer Hello Paul,
There are two different parts because the weight of the motor requires a different strength strut in the front to prevent an uneven spin. There should be no problem with reinstalling the ones you have because the problem was probably caused by a weak weld rod support assembly WH46X10270. These support the full weight of the tub and bend easily when the unit is moved or dropped. When they are necessary, the metal bracket on the bottom of the motor will drag the main base and leave a visible mark.
How to install and remove a rod and sring asm in the back?
Answer Hello BigB. Remove the front panel and remove the top of the washer. Then lift upward on the old rod and slip it out of the holder. Then you will drop it out of the bottom of the tub assembly. Reinstall with the new rod WH16X543 in reverse order. Hope this helps.
