How do you access the door switch & check continuity ? Or how do you remove the front panel?
Answer Hi Keith. Use a putty knife on the front of the top cover at both inner corners approx. 3" in to release the clips. This allows you to pull fwd and lift up on the top as you pull it all the way out. This gives access to screws on the back side of the front panel towards the top. Remove these screws and lift up on the front panel to remove it from lower side or bottom frame clips. Watch out for these popping out and loosing them. This gives access to the switch part # WE04X10034. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Door switch test,.. The door switch is a normally open switch wired in series with the drive motor. When the door is closed and the motor running, a circuit is completed through the motor’s run winding. To test the switch, remove the top panel and wires from the switch. When the door is closed, the switch should read continuity. When the door is open, the switch should read open. To replace the switch, squeeze the retaining clips together and pull the switch from the front of the dryer. Meaning that the blue were is the feed (common) "C" wire. When the door is closed it completes the circuit to the Gray wire on the N.O. Contact. You can temporarily jumper and tape these together to test for a bad switch if desired. Thank You
