On my side by side GE Profile, the fresh food section works fine (around 38F), but the freezer is around 20F with the temp control turned to the coldest setting for both sides. I haven't checked the coils yet, but was wondering if that could be either the cold control or the damper. I've also noticed that the ice maker has been making less (and smaller) ice in the last month. Don't know if that's because of the loss of cooling or possibly a leak.

Motor operates a long time. Both fridge and freezer set at 5, now fridge is droping to 28-29. When I turn the temp control down to 1 it shuts off. I now have both set at 3 to keep the temps right. Could this be the temp control? All coils are clean, fans operate, compressor is fine. Thanks Gary

top freezer is cold enoughf to freeze water and some items but some items are frosty but loose. Lower compartment is cool but not really cold. Had defrost timer and defrost thermostat replaced. But still not really cold with temp settings on D and 7 of 9 (imagine if she was in the fridge?). Could faulty temp control be problem? Compressor and fan runs as well as fan in back wall of freezer. Thinking I could take back wall cover off and see whether there is even build up of frost on coils? To get an idea whether there is problem with compressor (refrigeration).
