Fridge and freezer stopped cooling over night. Fridge temp approx. 50, freezer food half defrosted. Light on, no compressor, cond. fan or evap fan. running. Moved temp control both ways, nothing. Unplugged, re-plugged, nothing. Emptied unit. Moved unit out, comp. cold to touch. Cleaned condenser. 5 minutes later while scratching head, unit turned on. Cond. fan and evap fan running. Whats up?? I have a GE mini fridge that I got from someone else. It stopped working and I feel determined to get it working again. I feel I can learn something new and save money instead of buying new. It doesn't get cold. The motor runs. I replaced the relay because it looked burn up. The temperature selector was pulled down as if they looked into it being that. But I'm not certain. Because it doesn't push any cool air out. I can feel it running.

Refrigerator temp is very cold -- partially freeze milk, with the thermo indicator set at #1. Are there any conditions that would cause this other than a defective thermo?
