Our cord and terminal block had a melt down. The red wire covering on the stove side is blackened for about an inch. What do we need to do about that?

Answer Hello Sue. You will need to cut the burnt part off the wire and crimp on a new terminal. Then install the wire onto the terminal block assembly WB17T10011. Hope this helps.
