My two large elements are overheating. I turn them on low (below level 5) and they turn red hot after cooking about 10 minutes or so. The other small elements and the oven works fine. What do I need to replace?

Hello, We have to replace these blocks at least once every six months. It's always the large burner blocks that go bad. Any idea why they keep shorting out? Thank you.

Latest Questions

There doesn't seem to be a kit available with the wire nuts and shrink tubing splice package for the GE WB17T10006 terminal block kit. I know you said to use either med or lrg high temp porecelain wire nuts, but what do you recommend in the way of shrink tubing to put over the wire nut splices? This GE unit is a built in, hard wired unit and will be difficult to get out and complete a repair, so I'd like to use the splice method near the terminal block, but I want to be sure I have the right high temp wire nuts and high temp shrink tubing. Thanks for your help.

1 of the top heating elements burned out, I do mean burned out it went on fire. I am going to replace the element and the terminal block, but the the light on the stove to warn that a surface element is on stays lite now. By replacing the element and terminal block will the light go out? or do I also have to replace the temperautre control reostat?

I have recently purchased a replacement baking element. The original one exploded while I was baking. When I went to replace it, I found that the spade terminal that connects to the baking element also was damaged. I have not been able to purchase the yellow wire that connects from the terminal block to the baking element. I am tired of being told that this is a non-consumer part. It is a simple wire with connectors. I have been using the stove top so I know that nothing else is damaged and I know I have seen the wire kit for sale but can not find it now. Can you please help me find the replacement wire?
