I need to replace the thermostat stng pilot in my gas range. Is this something I can do myself or does it require special tools? The part # is WB20K0002, or I believe the "substitue" part # on your website is AP2633814.Thank you.
Answer Coretta, This is a repair you should be able to perform, you'll need some basic hand tools(screwdrivers, crescent or combination wrenches) and a little time. First, turn off the gas and unplug the power cord. You'll need to remove the burner grates, the cooktop and the burners. Remove the knobs from the valve and thermostat control knobs, Remove the manifold panel screws and remove the panel. with the wrench, remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat to the manifold pipe and lift the thermostat off the pipe. Open the oven door, dismount the end of the temperature sensing bulb from the clip holding it to the oven liner and push the tube back up and through the opening. Install the new thermostat, turn on the gas, and check for a gas leak, using a solution of soapy water, and wrag or paint brush. Reverse the rest of the procedure and check the oven for operation. Thanks and Good Luck
