Hello, this unit is built in, above the stove. If the stove has been on and hot, the microwave will run, but not heat. If stove is cold, the microwave operates as it should. Any ideas?
Answer Hello Troy. The first thing you will need to look for is a wiring issue on the unit. If you find a wire close to a connector that is dark, then it could be the problem here. If all wires look good, then you will need to check the capacitor in the unit when it is hot. It could be breaking down due to the heat. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
