Indicator light for oven does not turn off. Oven works, heats up, broiler works. cold to touch when knob turned to off, but light will not go out.
Answer Hello Doug. Either the selector switch or the thermostat is bad and will need to be replaced. You need to see which is connected to the light and replace that switch.
My elec. Range won't heat. Have replaced the oven sensor and the bake element. Is it the thermostat and how do I test it to check?
Answer Hello Mary. Test for power coming fromthe control WB27X5562 to the element during bake. If there is not 240 volts there, the control is bad. The control has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
