It takes two cycles to dry my clothes. The vents are clean. What causes it to heat up to its fullest? Another question, there is a felt gasket of some sort around the front of the drum, it is broke, would that cause a heating problem

Latest Questions

FWIW, the vent system was clear AND the therm is OK. Inside the chassis I found a factory paper that said among other things if there is any air leak that could fool the thermostat. The therm is downstream from the heating element, and it looks like the felt seal has come loose around the front of the drum which is introducing cold air into the stream ahead of the therm. So the therm never shuts off and cooks the clothes. Do you have the felt? Thanks!

The dryer gets so hot the clothes almost burn me when taken out. Also the top of the dryer gets very hot. I would think the therm would fail to cold rather than hot?

Would this thermostat mounted near the motor cause the dryer not to heat all the way? Dryer only gets warm.
