Hi, Do you have any information about the relationship between the 5 thermostats and thermal fuses in the dryer? What do the front panel thermostats do in relation to the drum thermostats? My dryer does not heat up and I'm looking at replacing one or more of the thermostats and possibly the heater element. Many thanks
Answer Hello Joe,
The thermostats are monitoring temperatures at different points in the heating circuit so if any one of them open, the entire heating circuit is disabled for safety purposes. Without any of them, a fire hazard becomes too probable. The thermostats in the rear, (hot part of the unit), open at higher temperatures than the ones in the intake end of the circuit.
The thermostats open and close at predetermined temperatures, while, if a thermal cut-out or a thermal fuse opens, they are opened until they are replaced with new ones.
WHERE IS THE THERMOSTAT AT? I know it's in the back but, is it at the top or bottom where the hose goes in at...NEED HELP BAD
Answer Hello Peggy. The thermostat WE4X811 is not in the back, but is located behind the front panel at the bottom left corner of the unit. You will need to remove the front panel to access and test the thermostat. Hope this helps.
