How do I remove the timer knob from the timer dial? I know there is a clip that holds it in place. Of course, I can't see the clip.

Answer Hello Sylray, There is a small white plastic clip that you have to pull out with needle nosed pliers or tweezers. Once the knob is removed, you can put the clip on the new knob and "pop" it on. It will pop on with the clip in place.

Suddenly, from one batch of clothes to another, both the dial knob and the plate/support behind got lose. Both spin, unable to hook into the mechanism behind. Plus: no matter how hard I pull they do not come out. How to remove and replace them? To repair: is the cause just they got lose, is there any part to replace? Without being able to remove them, I cannot find out what is the cause neither how to repair it? Thanks! SANVI.

Answer Sanvi, You will need to be careful, and you'll need an awl or small flat blade"pocket screwdriver. To remove the timer knob, you will need to use the tool and try and insert it between the timer knob and dial and release the knob retainer clip WH1X2117, then the knob WH1X2754 and dial WH11X10015 can be slid off the timer shaft. Just make sure you dont damage or loose the retainer ring WH2X650 holding the dial to the shaft. Once the assembly(s) are removed, you can check the timer shaft for proper in and out movemant and alignment, and repair or replace the necessary parts.

When the timer knob gets to the spin cycle the machine doesn't spin. The machine just stops. I can start it again at any position except spin so the knob is functional, just not on the spin cycle. Is it a knob problem or something else?

Answer DJ, It's something else. First, does the washer drain ? The washer has to drain the tub, reset the water level switch WH12X10065 to empy, before the tub can spin. Then check the lid switch assembly WH12X1043 can you hear ir "click" when you raise and lower the lid ? or you may have to test the switch circuit and wires with a multimeter. Good Luck and Thanks

Answer Hello Jessi. Check and make sure the time is secured and is not broken from the control panel. If the timer is good, you will need to replace the timer knob WH1X2754 on the unit. Hope this helps.

How do you align the new timer dial to the correct function on the washer?

Answer Hello Geoffrey. There is a tab on the timer dial that fits into a slot on the timer shaft. It will only go on one way. This puts the dial in the correct position. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. I had to remove the back and secure the timer better, once that was fixed the dial and skirt and knob fit. I hope this helps someone in the future.
