My timer is very stiff and the dryer is not heating. I have checked all of the thermostats and heating element. All have continuity across them. I have also checked the wall outlet for 240 volts it was also good. I dont know what else to do besides change the timer please help!

Answer Hi Bruce. Have you bypassed the start switch part # WE4M519? Remove the wires and use a jumper wire in each wire terminal to test to see if the unit starts now. Do not let it run too long, it is just a test. The door switch part # WE4M415 can be bypassed the same way with the wire on the common switch terminal to the one that is on the NC terminal. It sends the neutral to the motor windings. Thank You.

The clothes selctor knob is just turning stiffly and not "clicking" and catching in place at the place I want it to. Is this the part I am going to need to replace AP3994848?

I ordered a new timer for dryer, part #we4m356 which is same part #i am replacing. I received it from you today. I waited to detach each wire on old timer and attach onto new timer one at a time as to not be confused on which wire goes on which post. However, the "C" terminal on the old timer has 3 posts with wires attached and the new timer you sent only has 2 posts. Why? What do I do? I have a wire from the dryer with no post to attach it to. Help Thank you for taking my question.

Answer Hello Robin. Unplug the wires and see if one is piggy backed onto the other terminal. If so, that is how you will install on the new timer WE4M356.

Answer Hi Tom. Remove the power. Remove the knob by pulling it off. Then remove the back. Then remove the one screw that locks the timer to the panel. Lift the timers finger latch out of the lock position as you twist it slightly. Then pull the timer out of the control panel and as you unlock the timer wire connector assy. and pull the connector out. Then replace the timer connector exactly onto the new one and install in reverse order. Thank You.
