The timer on our dryer seems "stripped" as in it just turns with no clicks or resistance all the way around the dial. I'm assuming this means the whole timer needs replaced. It doesn't seem to be the knob since the knob still stays on the dial. Does this seem correct?

I recently replaced my dryer timer with part number WE4M364. After installing I noticed that the timer is about 90 degrees off of what the backsplash panel shows. After reading a previous post, I noticed that one suggestion is the timer is in backwards. I checked and to my knowledge that isn't the issue. I looked at the wiring diagram and it appears all the wires are I the right place. I double checked with GE and they assured that it is the correct replacement part. The knob insert is inside the knob. Is there a way to adjust the timer shaft? Or am I missing something simple? Thanks for your advice.

Latest Questions

My dryer is working ok. Looked at list of parts, including the knob and timer assembly. The knob is ok; not broken. The problem is that the dryer does not turn off and on at right dial setting. It goes through the cycles but turns off with the dial in between settings instead of correct off position. Do I need a timer or is there something else wrong?

A man was here to fix my washer and then the dryer went. Well the timer will not move 20min 30min so on and the heat is so low. He told us that it is the timer it is like it is only working on 110 not 220. The back plate in side the dryer will get hot if on long time but it will not dry any thing. All vents are clean.
