Answer Hi Vivian. There is a shaft that protrude's out the back of the timer. You either push out or pull in the shaft to unlock the timer Knob/skirt assy. Thank you.

Answer Hello Vivian. If you look at the picture of the knob WH1X2754, you will see the clip in position on the knobs shaft. You will just press the knob, with the clip on it, onto the timer shaft. Hope this helps.

Answer Hello Vivian. The timer WH12X10086 does have teeth on it, as well as the timer knob WH1X2754. You will need to remove the timer knob to check and see if the teeth are bad on the knob or the timer. Hope this helps.
