Does the time work the heatting elament. My dryer does not shut off auto.
Answer Sam, No the timer does not control the heating element, the thermostats do that. Try this as a test, disconnect the dryer exhaust vent from the back of the dryer and run the dryer on a "short"auto cycle If the dryer shuts off properly, that would indicate a clogged or restricted vent, causing the dryer to cycle the heat on the Hi limit thermostat9over heating), and bypassing the timer circuit, to allow it to advance and shut off.
