When I turn the power button all I hear is a clicking noise from the timer, and the dryer drum does not turn. Could you tell me what could possibly be wrong?
Answer Hello Pete,
This sounds like the start winding in the motor WE17X10002 has failed. You can test this by holding the door switch in and reaching inside and turning the drum while pressing the start switch. If it starts, the motors' start switch has failed.
Your rep said I may need a timer fuse. How do I find this? Thanks
Answer Hello Sherrie. There is no fuse for the timer, but there is a high limit fuse WE25X10011 and it is located on the back wall of the unit. You will need to remove the top of the dryer to access and test the fuse. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
