Purchased a new transformer from you. Put it in and plugged it in. Turned the knob on and got smoke coming from the knob assembly with no spark and very dim light. Unplugged and found the transformer to Hot to handle! Is this a bad transformer or something else? Hope nothing else got fried!

Answer Hi Rob. If you got smoke and a hot burner knob, then I surmise that the burner switch and wire assy. part # WB18T10381 needs replaced. It seems like the wires are shorting to ground. Thank You.

Igniters dont work or the knob led's. I checked the transformer with a meter and had no voltage on the output side. Ordered a new one, installed it and checked for voltage and had 240vac. Tried stove and did not work again. Checked new transformer and had no voltage again. Could a bad igniter module cause the transformer to go bad?

After a cleaning the cooktop does not fire at all. Is this most likely the transformer or the Ignitor? Which would you try to replace first?

Answer Hello Brice. You will need to check and make sure the igniters on the unit are good and dry, and no moisture got on the spark module WB13T10076. If there is no power coming from the spark module, and the cooktop is good and dry, you will need to test for power coming to the module. If there is power there, you will need to replace the spark module on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
