Using a putty knife isn't getting me anywhere removing the faceplace. It seems to be screwed in.
Answer Hello Paul. Door Dispenser Control Panel
The door dispenser control panel allows the
consumer to select water, crushed ice, or ice
cubes. It is an interface to the main control board. 1. Use a screwdriver to unlock the tabs at the
bottom of the control panel. Slide the bottom
out and down.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors.
Note: Inner door panel must be removed to
remove recess trim. Then you can access and remove the screws holding the outer trim on.
I ordered the trim replacement part for the ice and water dispenser. I have had to remove it in pieces. It would not pull off and unsnap the snapping parts broke off and I dont know how to get them out to replace with the new trim.... drill out the plastic pieces ???? they cant be pushed thru help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer Patience, Hopefully, nothing is damaged, but heres how to remove the trim "The dispenser assembly consists of the interface, display board, dispenser shield, and duct door functioning parts. The dispenser interface can be removed to access the display board and the
dispenser shield mounting screws. The interface is held in place by 4 tabs that hold it to the dispenser recess. To remove the interface, it is necessary to grasp the bottom lip of the interface on either side and gently pull it towards you. There are 3 wire harnesses connected to the display board. Note: The interface and display board are replaced as a complete assembly. When assembling, insert top tabs into the top of dispenser recess fi rst, then snap the bottom into place."
