How do I take the face plate off to get to the ice flap to fix? It's not sealing so ice builds up and ice don't work and the water don't work but if I put a towel in there the water works.
Answer Hi Bill. You will use masking tape on the bottom and sides to protect the fountain control panel off the door. You will either push up or sideways to remove the panel. The Ice door assy. is part # WR17X11653. The crank door recess is part # WR17X10706. The ice dispenser solenoid is part # WR62X10055. These should be the parts needed to get it back operational. Thank you.
CAN YOU PLEASE give me procedure for installing a new Trim for recess dispenser part number GE AP3183688. I'm guessing that access is from inside freezer door and inside panel must be removed. Thanks much.
Answer Erik, I think this will be a help, it's basic instrutions, but should get you through, " The dispenser assembly consists of the interface, display board, dispenser shield, and duct door functioning parts. The dispenser interface can be removed to access the display board and the dispenser shield mounting screws. The interface is held in place by 4 tabs that hold it to the dispenser recess. To remove the interface, it is necessary to grasp the bottom lip of the interface on either side and gently pull it towards you. There are 3 wire harnesses connected to the display board. Note: The interface and display board are replaced as a complete assembly. When assembling, insert top tabs into the top of dispenser recess fi rst, then snap the bottom into place. The dispenser shield can be removed to access the cradle switch, duct door, duct door solenoid, and dispenser LED lights. The dispenser shield is attached to the dispenser recess with 4 Phillipshead screws." Thanks and Good Luck.
