How can I replace the fill tube that comes from behind the ice maker to the cup on the ice maker? The fill tube came out with the ice maker. Also can the plate that supports the ice maker be removed to get behind it. lastly does the water line that goes up behind the back of the fridg to the ice maker, snap on or is it screwed on from inside the ice maker compartment ? Thanks
Answer Hi Mike. The fill tube inner half should just be able to slide on the back half from the front hole. Yes you can remove all the freezer shelves and remove the back screws. Remove the ice maker and then remove that back portion. The fill tube at the cabinet back wall needs to be twisted approx. 30° and pulled out. Rinse it out under the sinks warm water. Dry well with a hair dryer. Make sure upon reinstalling it that you divide the inner lip of the fill tube rightly divided so the outer lip creates the complete 360° seal against the units back wall. Very important so the moisture don't collect there and causer a freeze area. If the cabinet is wavy there it will make it tricky getting it back in place . See that this area is straight before reinstalling the fill tube to make it easier. The water valve to ice maker tube slides into the bottom of the outer fill tube and is clamped into place. Clamp Part # WR2X4754. Thank You.
