Oven would not ignite, replaced ignitor, still will not light. The control panel display shows to be operating properly, would the problem be the oven safety valve?

Answer Hi JJ. Check the oven sensor part # AP2023670 for 1100ohms. If it is open then it will not allow the controls to work. Are there any fault codes showing? Can you command bake and broil temperature ranges as the clock works well? Is the clock fully lit up ? Make sure you have 120 vac on the red wire at the K-1 Broil relay and the K-2 Bake relay. GE GAS (ROUND) IGNITER / VALVE ; Test for 2.6-3.0 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. Part # AP4481427. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can use a ohm meter part # AP3440648 to aid you in this. You will read between 50 - 250 ohms on a cold igniter. Thank You.
hi i purchased the product above and i was wondering if i needed any additional tools or anything on the threads like liquids/sealants/tape or anything of the sort when replacing it? or is this just a simple install with no additional steps besides replacing what i see?
thank you very much

Answer Tony, The only place you'll need to add something is at the regulator. You will want to use Teflon tape or pipe compound on the threads of the 1/2 in. "close in" nipple and adapter to the gas line, all the other fittings are pre tightenned, and the gas line adapter to the broil burner is a flared fitting and will seat and seal on it's own, if installed properly.
Our gas burners on top work, but the oven and broiler will not come on. We checked the shut off in bottom drawer and it appears to be open - What do we need to replace?
